Update Log

Below is the update log for this blog:

PLANNED:

December 2, 2015

– A Troop 103 Adult Leadership “Eagles” section recognizing all adult leaders who have earned the rank of Eagle, through troops other than our own.

March 31, 2015

– As some of you may notice, the information on this site in the “Life to Eagle” guide is somewhat out of date within our council (the San Francisco Bay Area Council- Mission Peak district). Although it still provides valid and helpful information, a lot of it might be misleading to scouts within our troop and outside of our troop. In particular, the checklist and project approvals all need to be corrected. In the event that this information conflicts with the information given to you by your Eagle Advisor, follow the advice of your Eagle Advisor.

In the next couple of months, I hope to work with our Eagle Project Coordinator & Eagle Advisors to firm up new updates to both the guide and attached documents needed.

– Similarly, the Eagle Court of Honor is no longer required, although our troop likes to still hold the ceremony as a way for the Eagle Scout to be recognized, and for him to recognize those who have helped him on his way to becoming an Eagle Scout. I hope to also update the “Planning your Eagle COH” pages to update and reflect this.

– Finally, I would like to update the What’s Next part of the site to include a way for current Eagle Scouts to connect with Eagles in the troop, and possibly network with other adults and scout alumni who at some point were involved with the troop. In this way, I hope we can further back up the idea that not only is the Eagle Scout Rank a valuable asset to anyone in their career and education future, but also a doorway that can open to connecting with other Eagles.

Although NESA does fulfill this purpose, I would still like to look at ways for Eagles within the troop to connect with those in the troop, not necessarily with Eagle Scouts & alumni that are in other councils/regions. Some ideas that I am looking at include having a LinkedIn group, a Facebook page, or something along those lines.

RESOLVED:
– Some people weren’t able to view the google maps embed under the “Life to Eagle Guide” and “Project Examples”. The map is viewable when using Windows 10 Microsoft Edge, Windows 10 IE 11, Windows 7 IE 11, IE 9, IE 8, Windows 8 IE 10, Mac Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Opera. At times, the menu may block the map and the points, in this case clicking the link underneath should redirect you to the map itself.
